Universidad de IbaguéThe Universidad de Ibagué is a university with 7000 student located in Ibagué (Colombia). It has five faculties: Law and Political sciences, Economy and Administration, Engineering, Basic Science and Humanities. There are seventeen undergraduate programs: Law, Political Sciences, Economics, International Business Management, Financial administration, Public Accounting, Marketing, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, System Engineering (Computer Science), Industrial Engineering, Psychology, Communication, Philosophy, Architecture, Environmental Administration and two Master degrees in Engineering (Industrial Engineering and Control engineering). De city is located 200 km east of Bogotá the capital of Colombia.

The University is a member of one of the biggest network in our Country, it is called “Red Mutis” and it is formed for universities that are similar to ours and have the prestige and acknowledgment in all the country. In this network, also are as a members, TC3 – USA and ITESM from México.

Finally, the Universidad de Ibagué has signed and work with several recognized universities from across the world. The main universities are: Universiteit Gent, Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, Brno University of Technology, Universidad de Salamanca, University of Economics in Katowice, Hanze University, among others from Europe. In North America, we have a strong collaboration with the State University of New York (SUNY), which includes the Tompkins Cortland Community College and the Cornell University. From Latin America, we have made agreements with Universidade de Fortaleza, Universidade Estadual de Campinas, ITESM, Instituto Tecnológico de Durango, Universidad Diego Portales, Universidad de Santiago de Chile, Universidad Argentina de la Empresa, Universidad de Belgrano, among others.


The UI represent the key link partner in Colombia with a focus on developing research and doctoral support and an excellent context for implementation of tools and techniques and assessment of the impact.

Scoping: WP management, clarify definitions and boundaries of the project, identify key sources of data, develop database of key articles, develop database of la institutions, evaluate literature on developing research culture/strategy, evaluate literature on skills required by doctoral students and evaluate literature on skills required by doctoral supervisors

Develop Doctoral Supervisor Training: WP management, review findings from wp 1 and 2, evaluate good practice from wp3, design supervisor support and training programme, refine and implement at partner institutions, seek latin american universities views on content, evaluate and refine and develop final curriculum

Website Development: WP management, develop website design requirements, build website, test and refine, and maintain and set up self maintenance

Conference – Doctoral Studies: WP management, form conference committee, identify venue, themes and topics, issue call for papers, evaluate and review/accept papers, organise venue event and support information, run conference/attend, evaluate delegate experience and identify any papers to use in the book.
